Retail Manager Canoe & Kayak + the Roof Rack Centre Botany

We are looking for an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store. You will be the one to ensure smooth running of operations to maximise sales and customer satisfaction and minimise costs.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a store manager and knowledge of diverse business subjects such as sales, finance, marketing and customer service. As an effective retail manager you will lead by example and be able to motivate your staff to perform according to their maximum capacity. You will have a hands-on approach and be involved in sales and customer service in both kayaks and kayak accessories and roof racks and roof rack accessories. You will need to be able to show initiative and have great problem solving skills.

The goal is to manage our store in ways that boost revenues and develop the business.

Experience in the automotive industry would be an advantage as roof rack fittings are a big part of our business. Knowledge of kayaking equipment/roof rack components and their uses and applications is preferable however training will be provided to the right person. You must be passionate about the outdoors.

Responsibilities:

• Organise all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel
• Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance
• Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency
• Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget
• Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation
• Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise
• Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays
• Analyse sales and revenue reports
• Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines
• Recruit, interview, train and supervise new employees, in addition to organising rosters

Requirements and skills:

• Proven experience as retail manager or in other managerial position
• Knowledge of retail management best practices
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Excellent organisation and leadership skills
• Commercial awareness
• Analytical mind and familiarity with data analysis principles
• Practical experience using tools (roof rack fitting full training given)
